WEEK 50 Coach A. Salinas

This week's Tiger Spotlight shines over Mr. Alfredo Salinas our P.E. coach. Mr. Salinas has degrees in Special Education and Physical Education. It wasn't until he taught in the classroom for several years that he realized what he really wanted to do. Coach Salinas teaches Physical Education to over 420 students every day and works after school to help with the Early College Campus 8th grade basketball team. He uses these coaching experiences to teach fundamental sports skills to elementary students. He also helps with tutorials after school with our resource students every day. Students say they work hard and learn a lot in his class. Thank you for your hard word and dedication!

Week 49: William Fratianni

The Tiger Spotlight shines over Mr. William Fratianni. He follows the time lines for Reading and Math for each grade level and assigns lessons on our computer programs to help fill in those gaps. While students are working independently, he monitors students to ensure academic needs are being met. Mr. Fratianni is an asset to our school because he is always willing to help anyone in need. Mr. Fratianni also helps with after school tutorials for our 3rd and 4th grade students. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication Mr. Fratianni!!

Week 51 Veronica Cortez and Ana Rodriguez Nursing Staff

This week's Tiger Spotlight shines over Mrs. Veronica Cortes RN and Ms. Ana Rodriguez. Both of them have worked conscientiously throughout the year to keep our students safe and healthy. They consistently go beyond the call of duty to help children, staff, and parents. Mrs. Cortes and Ms. Rodriguez work very hard to make sure all students are taken care of. Yet despite, the work before them they graciously help with all other activities that we have for our students. They have created presentations for our students to communicate a social conscience towards healthy food and exercise, informed our parents about the different diseases, and helped our administration to make decision on emergency situations. Thank you Mrs. Cortes and Ms. Rodriguez for dedication to our students, our staff, and our parents!

Week 48: Cynthia Perez

This week's Tiger Spotlight shines bright on Cynthia Perez, 4th grade teacher. Mrs. Perez has done a great job guiding the fourth grade team as they prepare our students for STAAR. She has pushed her students to their fullest potential, so they can be successful in their academic context. Mrs. Perez consistently evaluates our students' progress and makes the necessary modifications to ensure student success. Keep up the great work Mrs. Perez!!!

Week 47 Erika Leal

Congratulations to this week's Tiger Spotlight Teacher, Mrs. E. Leal, Pre-Kinder Kinder Teacher at Valley View North Elementary. Mrs. Leal makes everyone in her class feel special. She incorporates technology to all her lessons. Mrs. Leal efficiently utilizes every minute of the day working non-stop with students and reading and testing AR. She has a positive disposition and helps around the school with other events going on. Both her students and parents appreciate all her extra efforts. Week 46 Mrs. Anderson

This week Valley View North Elementary recognizes Rachael Anderson, 4th grade teacher. Mrs. Anderson is a dedicated professional who dedicates most of her time to her students. Any one walking into Mrs. Andersons' classroom will quickly see her love for her students and the teaching profession. She ensures students understand the lesson, tutors those who do not, and motivates them to do their best. When students have problems, they find a caring teacher in her. Week 45 Mrs. Olga Segura

Tiger Spotlight Shines over Mrs. Olga Segura, Reading Intervention teacher for being an advocate for her students and always wanting to lend a helping hand. Mrs. Segura is working with the 4th grade team to make sure all students are successful. She has been proactive in wanting programs to run smoothly for her students and taking action when they don't. She also offers her help continuously in campus events and school activities which at times may require extended hours after school.
